Overview

Echelon Risk + Cyber is seeking an experienced Cybersecurity Engineer to implement solutions to remediate cybersecurity issues uncovered within various client systems. This individual will be a key part of building our service offerings and will work strategically with leadership while providing tactical support. Work will be performed in a consultative manner with clients of various industries, sizes, and makeup.

The ideal candidate will be an authentic, articulate, and humble leader who is unafraid to roll up their sleeves and dive deep into the unknowns, using their security expertise to uncover problems within client environments and identify opportunities to increase the overall capabilities of the Echelon Risk + Cyber practice and the cybersecurity posture of our clients.

What You Will Do

  • Design, build and lead large-scale technical cybersecurity improvement projects for clients with a focus on engineering cybersecurity solutions within Windows domains, traditional networks and cloud infrastructure (Azure, AWS, GCP, etc.)
  • Work closely with our Offensive Security team and Audit, Assessment & Compliance team to learn about our customer’s needs to help design, build and implement solutions that strengthen their security posture
  • Establish exceptional client and partner (e.g., vendors, referral sources, etc.) relationships through communication skills with clients, understanding needs, and seeing the entire project life cycle through
  • Nurture, develop and build a vendor partner network to drive adoption of cutting edge cybersecurity software/hardware solutions within our clients environments
  • Deliver exceptional client service, including communicating with clients throughout the entire project life cycle to better understand client needs
  • Assess the customer’s technical environment and requirements while managing expectations and following through on solutions or consulting on deployments
  • Manage several engagements at once while remaining highly responsive and ensuring all deadlines are met
  • Design, build, and document repeatable cybersecurity engineering solutions standard operating procedures and support infrastructure
  • Provide innovative techniques and perspectives to continually enhance internal processes and capabilities
  • Assist in developing a team to support client engagements and the firm mission, vision and values
  • Produce thought leadership for the organization’s website blog on a regular basis
  • Actively be involved in the cybersecurity community, speak at local and national conferences

Requirements

  • 6-10 years of progressive experience in security engineering, with demonstrated ability to lead and perform cybersecurity solutions development
  • Degree in computer science, information security or related discipline is preferred or 8-10 years equivalent working experience
  • Experience with a wide variety of cybersecurity toolsets across the technology stack (e.g.: endpoint protection solutions, network security logging/monitoring, web application architecture security, cloud compute security practices, etc.)
  • Demonstrated ability to evaluate business needs, network infrastructure, web application architecture, security requirements, and other current configurations of clients to deliver appropriate solutions
  • Preferred certifications: CISSP, CISM, CCNA/CCNP, Security + and other relevant certifications, including cloud native
  • Ability to mentor, train, and develop others in a team environment, including remote environment setting
  • Hands-on experience with implementing cybersecurity solutions in Windows, Active Directory, Azure AD, and Microsoft 365, & AWS environments in an enterprise context
  • Considers communication style based on audience-ability to communicate highly technical findings to a non-technical audience clearly
  • Demonstrated experience collaborating with senior business leaders in support of security incidents- influencing and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to multitask, prioritize, and lead teams in high change environments
  • Proven track record of solving complex and unique problems with no clear solution by use of expertise and unique knowledge
  • Strong attention to detail and superior analytical, technical, and problem solving skills
  • Authorized to work in the United States

Bonus Qualifications

  • Certifications in GCFE, GNFA, GCIA, CISA, or other Security or networking certifications
  • Working experience in next generation antivirus solutions (e.g.: Crowdstrike)
  • Digital forensics and incident response experience
  • Consulting experiences across various industries
  • Working knowledge of cybersecurity frameworks at size and scale
