Echelon Risk + Cyber Launches AI Governance Service to Help Organizations Build Secure, Compliant, and Responsible AI Programs

PITTSBURGH, PA - May 1, 2025 - Echelon Risk + Cyber has officially launched its AI Governance service, expanding its Risk Advisory + Services offerings. The AI Governance service is designed to help organizations navigate the complex risks, regulations, and ethical considerations of artificial intelligence through a tailored, security-first approach.

“Our AI Governance service is an innovative approach to reducing risk,” said Steve Dyson, Senior Cybersecurity Manager at Echelon. “We start with a threat-informed assessment aligned to ISO/IEC 42001 and NIST, then develop a sustainable governance program based on how each client uses AI. The goal is to ensure AI adoption is ethical, secure, and compliant.”

The service integrates both technical and compliance-focused risk management, helping companies address issues like algorithmic bias, data leakage, explainability gaps, and regulatory obligations.

“Most organizations are already using AI without oversight or clear policies. We bring visibility, defined roles, and structure to day-to-day operations so teams can move faster with less risk,” Dyson added.

“We bridge cybersecurity, risk, and AI regulations into one strategy,” said Josh Fleming, Senior Cybersecurity Manager, also at Echelon. “Many clients don’t know where to start. Some adopt third-party tools without assessing risk, while others build models with no documentation or audit trail. This service delivers clear guidance and ongoing support to close those gaps.”

“AI is shaping the future,” Fleming concluded. “With the right guardrails, companies can shape it responsibly. Our service helps build trust, reduce risk, and support innovation at speed without compromising on trust or compliance.”
